Urban Ambient was built as a collaboration with the broadcasts which pass through us, our homes, and our lives.

 

Beginning with nothing, i turned the tv on and began creating; slowly building by recording live tv while improvising from appropriated samples, found sounds, and synthesizer. When it would feel "off", i would rewind the tape, recreate what jived and upon reaching the moment of "off", would hit record and push forward.

 

This improvisation was recreated live in December 2008 at Sneaky Beans in Jackson, MS (pictures) and January 2009 at One to One Studios in Midtown Jackson (video). The full performance was around one hour.
